Hey, on move 36 he should have moved the king and not blocked check with the bishop, if he'd moved the king you could have taken his rook on A8.
His bishop block was correct but he shouldn't have left it pinned for so long, simple king move to E7 and he would have been out of trouble. Later on move 52 he could have just sacrificed his knight to get rid of the annoying pawn, if you had taken back with the king you couldn't have stopped his pawn push, if you took with the rook you could only slow him down, you could have moved your rook down to G1, then his rook to A4, you can block at the A1 square but his dark square bishop would no longer be pinned to the king....
Fun game though.
I'm a low-ranked beginner, but I had so much fun winning this game I decided to post this. This was a classic "swindle" victory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swindle_%28chess%29). At the worst point of the game, one move before the end, I was down 17 pawns in material, and managed to checkmate the following move. It was great
Before you guys laugh at black take a look at some of the games on that wikipedia page. Played the correct way even professionals can be lured by the prospect of quick victory. And this was textbook. Black really shouldn't be ashamed, he badly outplayed me the entire game.
But, in the end, a swindle is a swindle
Fun game. Thought it might amuse you guys. Not brilliant, but certainly a better played game than my "infamous" "Comedy of Errors" victory (http://www.chess.com/forum/view/game-analysis/a-comedy-of-errors-low-ranked-player)
. Yikes, was that one a debacle...
