A Game I Am Very Proud Of

This is a game I played a few weeks back at my club and I am going to leave minimal comments on the game and so you can take it in and find anything my opponent could of possibly done to put my attack to a hault. I was white and it was against a player graded 1785 (amazing compared to my measly rating of 944)...but as you can see this game did my rating a lot of good!

Wow Not bad! That's an awesome attack! Black might have had some responsed but I can't really see them! WTG!

Sugden1403

thank you very much for the comments...and by the way what does WTG stand for?

Theodred

Way to go!

wow, you really threw that guy a blanket party i'd say. very fun game to play over. Black really needed to get in d6 there early to put traffic on the a2-g8 diagonal, instead he chose to attack when he was way behind in development. if you look at the position after move 7 for white, the centre is just owned by white. the centre pawns are looking very nice and whites pieces are all very fluid in their development potential. black undertakes a plan which actually 'wins' what would probably be in this position whites last piece to develop! So while black is liquidating any pieces exerting energy in the centre of the board, you come and smash the king, who unfortunately is only protected by a meager assortment of pawns and a queen. Congrats again on such a fine game. I'll be printing this one out myself to play over when i need a smile.

thank you much Chessroshi I am honoured for you to print one of my games out when you dont even know me and live across the Atlantic!

I am so happy that you appreciate my game. Thank you!

strato123

really awesome dude ! dat was jus pouring in and black was caught in material greed .

Sugden1403

yep but if you look at it he wasnt so unbelievably greedy that it is abnormal most players would go the exchange up by winning the rook and then most players would also bring their bishop out of a1 to avoid getting it taken for free so it is not amazingly greedy but in relation to the position it was...

Sugden1403

yep

Little-Ninja

You smashed him beautifully mate! Not only did u beat a 1700+ player but you did it in less then 20 moves. A true brilliancy! It was fantastic to watch im tempted my self to print it as a reminder of what can be achieved.

Sugden1403

thank you very much!

greekgeek

I love move 12, Bg5!  That made me smile.  I imagine he was sweating at that point!

northsea

Liked tha game very much, imo best moves were:

10.Qb3-the right way to start an attack

12.Bg5-a great move, maybe i should have missed it

14.Bg6-also a sweet one

VGG,thanx for posting

Sugden1403

yep you bet greekgreek he was getting pretty uptight...

northsea it is my pleasure

Well done

Very nice.

Skeptikill

quite nice. Shove it to the dude who got greedy! basic flaw his eyes were bigger than his belly. lol. The only thing he could have done was not be taking so much of your material and taking care of his king but it was many moves ahead before he actually sees the problems of lack of development.

atomichicken

That was a well known trap in the Italian game, I'm pretty sure most of the moves are known.

schofio

Atomichicken is unfortunately correct in that this is a documented trap.

Not to put down your success but I would expect a 1785 ELO 1. ...e5 player to be aware of and able to deal with this line. What type of rating are you talking about?
