12.Qf3 is stronger than Nf3.  White is already a piece ahead; why not swap?  BTW, 15....Rh1+; 16.Kf2 and what is the follow up?  16....Rh2+; 17.Ke3 and though White's K is uncomfortable, I don't see a mate or a win of material.
