A sudden swindle

Shows that one should not give up too early. Any analysis prior to the losing 22... g6?? is appreciated

i am, as always, missing something (like the daily puzzles, there is a forced mate i just can't find)- why does black not play Kg7 and then Kf8 (or if necessary Kf6), given the extra piece and the lack of protection of the white king.

am particularly interested at the moment given have seen a player resign quickly after taking a superficial setback when, in my opinion, they held a winning position against me.

joly, white has a forced mate after Kg7, Qh6#

I believe after 22 Rh3 it's lost no matter how he replies.

Umm Qh6ch mates immediately. Rg8 seemed to be an unfortunate move, so instead of 22...g6 maybe 22...re8 23f6 BxR is ok for black.

TwoMove

Quite a bit to look at in this game, but first thing to establish is what is defence instead of 22...g6? Think 22...Re8 is holding after quick look.

TalFan

Yep that should be safe for black. Fritz finds that black is better by a pawn if he plays this right. It was an unfortunate move that lost for my opponent

hey, you're right. sorry, the move seems pretty obvious looking at it in the sober morning light.

shuttlechess92

omg I love that attack

TwoMove

I thought 22...re8 23f6 BxR but then 24Bxh7 looks like a problem. Maybe 23 ...g6 since just about holding 24 rxpch KxR 25 Qh3ch Kg8 26 Qh6 Bxp. Although wouldn't exactly be sitting comfortably in black's position. 23...Nf8 another possibility.

Don't think 7...Bg4 and following up by burying the bishop at g6, is very good for black.

yes, thankyou everybody, i have said sorry once. it was a legitimate, albeit most dunderheaded, error.
