This is the first game of the UK Land Chess Challenge played at my school, this post is primarily for the benefit of my class mates, who were unable to watch the game themselves, but I hope it will provide a degree of comic relief for others. Incidentally, I was not playing.

3. Nf3, need to learn some more openeings, never seen that one before.
9. Rf2, could have been a good move if I have ever made use of it.
10. a4, here again need to take more time on moves, look at what oposition is doing rather than planning own attacks.
11.b4, didn't think about the attack coming from the queen, was expecting it from the knight. Was intending to follow with Qf1, lol again not thinking of every possiblity.
13.Qd5, lol after making this move there was no escape, was a stupid move however I was thinking that if I was gonna stand a chance of winning I needed to go on the offensive, wasn't a bad fork really except it give him checkmate :).
Other move I was considering was Qg1, which would have resulted in a queen swap but even then i think from that possition loosing was inevitable.
Also Bd3 I should have considered, now it comes to it the best offense I could have offered. Oh well keep practising, hopefully next round will be a bit better. Need to practice with more long matches rather than just blitz chess.
Congrats to Adan for winning, and one the brightside, at least i got first move of the competition.

this game made me think of hallcyon days when i first learned the game. I lost terribly on my first game. i could have been white.. lol
