Anderssen Opening

         This is just one miniture game i won using anderssen opening, even tough 1 a3 seems naive but it has its merits in non grandmaster games.

16.Kf8 may be better for black, 3.Nc6 seems better for black, and then for example

4.Nxd4 Nxd4 5.Qxd4 Nf6 and black is good.

I don't see any strategic plan in the Anderssen though, b3 seems a more logical move to surprise and not commit oneself in the center, a3 is "almost" like giving your turn.

But then, I don't know this opening so I may give it a try to see by myself...Good game by the way.

Mikhael72 : a3 is interesting first move because it throws all opponent opening preparation out of window,  and a3 is almost played in all openings at some point so its not a bad move, and instead of showing your cards to your opponent by playing e4 d4 or Nf3 etc you simply grab queenside space and let your opponent show you his strategy and playing style, as in the game i saw he was a premature attacker so i enticed him by giving him chance to attack my position and take material while at same time building up my position.

I see your point, but an experimented player with black will try to play e5 for example and a line in which a3,is bad or at least a small weakness. Indeed psychologically you will see things, but a3 is not always good, for example if you want to do long castling it can sometimes be a weakness. Probably anyway an interesting opening, worth trying...

I send you a challenge if you would like to play a game with this opening (in non live, psychological aspect is less important, this way we could see if the opening is solid).

1. h3 is better because it gains kingside space, give your rook a flight square, give your king an escape square and removes any possibility of back rank mate if you castle kingside, and it prevents the Bg4 nasty pins on your queen.

 1 h3 is pure blunder, it weakens your kingside and its most likely that white will castle there, there is big difference btw 1a3 and 1h3, i suggest you give both of them a try and find out yourself :).

This was a fairly weak game. No blunders, but just short of ideas.

lets ignore your dubious opening choice. If you want to play as black even with the white pieces, that's your perogative.

instead of 5.e3 why not not Nb3? refusing to simplify the position and maintaining equality. In the final position, despite his lack of development, and a few theoretical weaknesses, I honestly think black is better. A few careful moves and black is unraveling. For example;

both sides have plenty of play. Black lags behind in development, and has an isolated pawn and hanging pawns, but a kingside majority and a slight material advantage.

Basically, your claims of black being in a "losing position" are completely unjustified.

tarikhk: 19.dxc6? this move is mistake for white if played. 19. Ne4 seems better for white. If your gonna play moves like 19. dxc6 i suggest you play Re8 and give up the rook too, then im sure i will agree with you that black is better :).
