Change of attitude

In the past I've gotten into the bad habit of resigning at soon as I drop a piece. I've been seeing people post that at lower ratings, you should not resign because your opponent is just as capable of making a blunder as you are. So I've decide to play on until defeat is certain. Here is a 3 minute blitz game on another site (which I love now) were I dropped material early, but decided to fight on. I don't post this for a pat on the back, but to inspire anyone who might be were I have been to fight on till the bitter end.

Enjoy!

3-minute blitz games are very different from standard time control games.

That's true, but would you resign against a 1500 - 1600 if you dropped a knight early on in a standard time control? Probably not.

So deadpan, yet so succinct.

P.s.  The actual mating attack was pretty good by the way.

Yes, 1500-1600 is more than capable of easily converting a win with an entire minor piece.  Different story if I was playing an 1100.

I've won multiple game after dropping a piece against roughly 1500 competition in standard time controls.  They should be able to tighten the noose pretty quick if you're going to resign.

I was wondering about the free queen too. In turn, 21. ...Qxd2 should have saved Black, right (probably follow up with Nf6 to get rid of the d7 knight)? Though I guess we can chalk that up to a 3-minute-game blunder.

Though the queen would still be hanging, I guess?
