Chess Ailment

I seem unable to stop blundering my queen on a 2D board. This sort of thing never happens OTB (fortunately), but I've had a couple of games recently where I've just hung my queen for no reason:

It's just a bit annoying when it ruins well-played games (especially the first one).

Hmm, a 2140 who is unable to stop blundering queens wouldn't be rated 2140 for long.

I assume this happened twice in the last 1000 blitz games, and is not an every day occurrence

Are you saying you've never hung a queen in a live blitz game ? Or is it just that you've never hung a queen in a live slow chess (40/90, etc.) game?

Change your theme to staunton maybe? Then it might look more like a real board. Just an idea

If Krammnik can miss a mate in 1, you can hang a queen :-)

I don't play much OTB Blitz, but it just doesn't seem to happen then. I think it's partly due to a lack of concentration in online blitz, as well as not having to physically move the piece (which helps avoid one-move blunders, as you can see what you're doing before letting go of the piece). Also, because I play many online blitz games per day, I'm naturally going to have more blunders per day online than OTB. I'm changing the theme for the pieces anyway as I prefer the normal pieces.
