@adumbrate
You said the below statement:

My advice is not to favor one side over another side.
Try to be flexible and play the position.
Sometimes your position demands you to play for a king hunt.
Other times it demands for queen side play.

Way to go!!
On another note - that really doesn't happen every day, that a titled player plays ...b5 in such a position.
You should have hurried outside and gotten yourself a lottery ticket real quick that day.

I was a bit surprised of that game as well, and was wondering if he really could miss that.
Yeah I ended at 2192 and I am one game against someone similar rating to get exactly 2200, as you get +8 for a win against someone your exact rating! I am deciding not to do it now, and instead go to sleep! I need to be my best for that nerve game

2200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL
And it had to be a win on time!!
Can't keep my cool when it is the deciding game XD

The other day at the club I played somebody and won 2:0 (in blitz). Then the third game I got into a position with king and 5-6 pawns, when he had king, a few pawns, bishop, rook, queen.
He also had like 1:30 minutes on the clock - comfortable. I had like 1:15.
So of course I had the courtesy to offer him a draw. I was shocked that he didn't accept.
I asked him - "do you really think that you have the better chances in this position?"

It took another strong player of the club, who was present and watched the game with interest, to explain to me in detail, why my opponent didn't accept the draw. I'm not sure I'm quite over it yet.
