I hardly would call the Damiano a legitimate opening--the only person I know who plays it is Sam Sloan and that probably speaks enough of this opening.

It IS legitimate, but i would call it a blunder.

Check out Petroff-Sokolow, 0-1. Follows the first 4 moves of this. The sac's are a bit excessive, but it's still interesting.

I have played a couple of games on the white side of this opening, it really is quite weak
