Houdini getting spanked like a child

Kingwraith

Something seems weird about this game.  I'm no chess expert or anything, but is it normal for one of the top chess engines in the world to only have one piece off the back rank by move 14 and have its king in the center and open?  Even I know that's bad.

Dionisios_Marinos

yes your right. i switched both engines books off so they are relying on just calulation with no human intervention meaning no human preprogrammed openings

houdini seems to be weaker in the opening with its book off

No, you simply did not activate houdini 3,(there is an activiation file you need to klick to make that happen which must have escaped you)-it plays at a reduced level otherwise, similiar to handicap- state were it does not evaluate at default mode.

On other news: I must question your intelligence if you for that matter draw any conclusions from a single game....

There is no need to question anyone's intelligence.  You might question his knowledge about analysis and statistics, but his/her conclusions do not offer any clues about his/her intelligence, and frankly it's rude  of you, as well as unhelpful to the discussion, to make such a statement.  It would be like me questioning your intelligence because you misspelled "klick" and "similiar". :)

He draws a conclusion on the relative streights of each engine based on single game played, if that's not dumb, then I don't know what is. Even if you have zero knowledge of statistics it's still mindbogglingly stupid, it's one freaking game!.

it's a sidematter since houdini was not properly functioning, I know because it does not play that way in non book-mood-when fully activated, in fact it plays quite well.
