2... a6 also stops you from playing 3. Nb5 (not like you would really want to).

great game, that was a good sacrifice, especially since you were already a piece up, but I don't think mate was as inevitable as you think it was because moving the rook over would have worked as an escape route you definitely look a lot better off though. since a queen pin may have been what was unavoidable
I played this game a while before I joined chess.com, and it wasn't against the best of opponents (though I probably didn't play my best either - I haven't analysed this game properly). I am quite pleased with the way I went about destroying the castle though. It has a good bishop sacrifice in it (eventually), so enjoy!
