endgame

I wanted to show two games I played recently. One I drew (from a hard position) and the other I won (from a drawish position) and in each case I succeeded because of my familiarity with a particular ending. The game segment below shows the ending I am talking about.

I learned many years ago how to draw this position as black. The next game is a game I played here on chess.com and I used the idea to draw the game. I then show a game that looked very drawish and I managed  to eek out the win. I was pretty pleased with both results but thought people might be interested in seeing two applications of the above endgame idea.

 I am putting this text between the two games otherwise the games are placed too close together and you cannot read the comments for each move. Hope this helps
