I just finished this game in a tournament, where usually i find myself really mixing up my openings. Here's a game where played the Evans Gambit. I was shocked at the lead in development I bought with two pawns, one which I managed to maintain throughout the game.
Well let's hear what you think of the game, or of the Evans Gambit. This was the first time I'd tried it, and I'm a fan.
I used to play the Evans. I highly recommend it to beginners as a substitute for the Gioco Piano. It's a hell of a lot more exciting and really hammers in those lead in development and king safety principles.
I'm a Morphy fan, so I like the Evans. Great for beginners to play to understand what developement and tempo mean. But your opponent played a weak line here--don't get the idea that it's White to move and win. Having said that, Kasparov beat Anand with it once in a tournament game. Rock on, bro.
