This Article will be on how to play in the Romantic Style. So if you have ever wanted to play like Adolf Andersson or Louis Paulson, this is the place to learn.

Step 1.

Find an Opponent.

This isn't to hard, He doesn't have to be famous, or even skilled, but this is something you need.

My opponent for today will be NN.

Step 2.

Start with an Agressive Opening. Gambits are Prefered, especially open game Gambits. However any Opening will do, I was playing in a Sicillian.

Make sure to choose the sharpest lines of any opening you do play so Double and Triple Muzios are encouraged.

Step 3.

Find a Sacrifice. Any one will do, but it should be Unsound.

As in You should get very little in terms of Real Compensation, Psycological Compensation is prefered to anything concrete except for tempo, Tempo is a perfectly acceptable reason to sacrifice material. So is an Unsafe king.

Step 4.

throw as Many Pieces at your opponent without losing them as possible.

Find which piece isn't participating in your attack and make it participate.

"But Ben, what if my knight is telling me he doesn't want to go to g5"

MAKE HIM... Threaten his family if you need to.

Step 5.

Make a move that makes little to no sense.

This should be a move that makes your opponent think you've run out of fire. Backwards moves are great for this, So are captures away from the action. essentially any move that makes your opponent scratch his head will work.

Step 6.

Wait for your opponent to Blunder.

This is the most fun. It doesn't matter how unsound your attack, he who makes the second to last blunder wins! Therfore, All you have to do is wait for your opponent to blunder and you should be fine.

So I present. an Example game.
