I decided to give my hand at the King's Gambit... Wow that scary. I had my King' hoping all the way across the board!
If I wasn't an idiot... I probably would have done Bc4 or the more conventional Nf3 on my third move.

So you were nervous? Play a lot more King's Gambit! Once you can feel comfortable with sharp positions, you will feel how lucky you are.
I myself start to like complicated positions after playing the KG. That's a huge benefit for me because the majority is not good at it, because they tend to avoid it and become less skillful at it. And at higher level, this is exactly what the big guys are heading for (complicated positions).
