Loose queen, or get checkmated? Hmm, tough call!

Here is an idea of a trap that I have played (successfully), and learned on another site.

Hope you all enjoy this

Very effective planning.

who the hell plays 1. d4 2.Nd2 dxe and h3?!

Someone who has no idea how to play against the dutch defence. Surprisingly, this is indeed a book move. It is the Dutch defence: From gambit

Why not capture the knight with that c pawn? End of threat...

It's neither the Dutch Defence, which is 1.d4 f5, or the From Gambit, which is 1. f4 e5.

Okay, to save confusion, the opening black played is the ENGLUND GAMBIT.

Cos you'll be checkmated in two more moves!

It's certainly a nice trap but in 36 years of competition I have yet to encounter the move 2 Nd2 !? ( the "!?" is my own and I apologise to any purists/theoreticians who know better). The Knight is better placed on c3 (putting aside more likely moves for the moment .... like 2 c4 and 2 Nf3 or even 2 Bf4), Nd2 seems to accomplish little for White except inhibit his "harmonious development" (apologies again for using such an overworked cliche, but you can see what I'm talking about.... the Bishop on c1 is stifled, the Queen does not defend the d-pawn and the move has no influence on the d5 square). In summary then, nice trap but useless in practice except against the odd novice.

I diffinetly agree that Nd2!? is not the best move. I would most likely play c4. e4 is the worst since it gives black a free pawn!

If you have a loose queen, consider divorce. You might want to lose her.

Pretty 'loose" play. You might want to check this out...
