In response to your comment about what you could have done about the bishop on c3, playing Nb1 at some point could have forced its departure, if appropriate.
Ah yes. Well spotted. I think at the time I felt this may have weakened me defensively (I was very overcautious as my opponent was 1700+ ranked). But yes, Nb1 shifts it sure enough and allows either my rook or queen onto the game-winning a-file (with the other guarding the back rank). All's well that ends well, however.
