For a 1700 elo rated player to blunder, mouse slip or hang a piece in a friendly online random game in any time format under any circumstance is inconceivable. Just preposterous. Drunk? High? Distracted? Tilted? Not paying attention? Mouse slip? Time struggle? Doesn't matter... very sad indeed... dude must have cried all night, I know I did.. still am, actually. Honestly I don't know how he lives with himself... Obviously a 1800-2200 player would NEVER do this, under any circumstance whatsoever... GMs and world champions have done so? yes, maybe, but that's because they're not among the holy grail of ratings, poor, sad, miserable, guys... go figure

Aronian and Petrosian for example have hung queens. Kramink didn't hang a queen but hung mate in 1. Some people would say that's worse.
People mouseslip and blunders and hang pieces all the time, especially online blitz... As far as opening goes, I've seen GMs play 1.f3 and 1.g4... not too sound as far as I know. The reason for his moves are definitely a mystery... that a6 was very dubious... strategically speaking, yes, terrible.... if he was playing serious and played this then yes I would be inclined to agree it's sad... but then again unless he's cheating he got to 1700 with poor openings which is somewhat impressive... maybe he's trolling, maybe he's trying to learn how to squeeze out of positions where you control less space, maybe he wanted to try something new and different... maybe he just wanted to lose a bunch of games to lower his rating and sandbag 1200... maybe he was in on this with the OP for this extremely hilarious brilliant move of a joke... who tf knows idc chess.com ratings are super inflated anyways

I expect a YouTube video or a twitch stream in a few days, where he beats the latest stockfish with queen and rook odds, and only ten seconds on the clock while the engine has infinite time.
