No related to your actual question, but I think a user name including "cheetah" might not be the most fortunate on a chess site. Just sayin'. ;)
Posting auto-play videos of your chess match.

It's a bad pun that plays on the 80s Cheetoes icon, Chester Cheetah. I thought about what you said when I first created it and was ready to take the ribbing, but unless you have a Brooklyn or Bostonian accent more people will think I play quickly rather than cheat, and quite honestly, is it even possible to cheat on a virtual chessboard? :)

I wouldn't like to rain on your parade, but you need to realize that it is far more likely to get cheated upon in online chess than in OTB. After all, you don't see whether your online opponent, being obviously out of your sight, is not using assistance rather than play by themselves. As a matter of (a sad) fact, cheating is the single greatest drawback to online chess there is.

Well, if you do that, then you're only cheating yourself because you don't learn a thing and you're a big fraud. Seriously, what is the point to playing if you're not playing your own game? I don't get it. Maybe if someone was betting money or something, I could better understand their rationale, but certainly not for recreation.

See, now in OTB, I have a paste-on crown which I adhere to the top of my pawn when my opponent isn't looking, which yields me an extra queen, but the notion of doing that in online chess is preposterous.

I am totally with you on all your points, but it is reality that there are many people to whom winning is paramount to anything else, and they just won't shy away from pursuing that by any means available. Just like in life, unfortunately. And more recently there's apparenly been many younger players who seem to have a hard time even seeing the difference and understanding why using disallowed assistance during play is a cheat.
Note that it's not about the kind of cheats you might be able to pull off OTB (like moving a piece to another square or even swapping it out while the opponent isn't looking), but rather about getting assistance. If your opponent would be handling an electronic device constantly while considering their move, you would obviously grow suspicious. Playing online, you just don't see what your opponent is or isn't doing, and in the end you cannot be sure whether that move they just made is what they came up with on their own, or whether it was suggested to them.
I am not advising against playing online altogether, and am also not suggesting that the majority of players cheat, but I would like you to be aware that this is something you may run into.
Hi everyone,
I noticed if you post a link to one of your completed matches on Facebook, a thumbnail will appear with a "Play" triangle on top of it. Upon pressing the Play button, the entire match will play out automatically in a video. However, this video playback feature is not available if you use the link elsewhere. Is there anyone who knows the link format which one can use to directly link to an auto-play video like this? Your help would be appreciated. Thank you!
