#BCM2 - Pulpofeira vs. MSC157
Pulp missing a mate in one?? Admittedly, the position after g6 is not so nice either...probably allows some kind of shizam with h4.
MSC was better - but the game could easily go to move 65.
Besides, there's also 15...f5. The e-pawn is weak, indeed - but the black bishop pair doesn't promise white a garden of roses either.
I suspect, though, that Pulpo, in his calculations, perhaps didn't follow the line starting with 16. Qh7# all the way through to a quiet position with a clear evaluation.
f5 is better for white...e6 pawn is super weak, after Qe2 Be8 is forced if you want to keep the bishop pair and Bc4-Re1 looks amazing for white...
Remember that we're talking MSC and Pulpo. Either side could do amazingly well - or it could end in a draw.
I think I messed things a bit in the queenside and center, I was trying to figure how to fix it! But hey, Robert, is not the first time for me!
...f5 gives a nice square on g6 for the knight, was looking forward to it, but it's one of the ideas to defend. However, instead of checkmate, this line could also be played:
15... g6 16. Qxb7 Rfd8 17. Qf3 - surely advantageous for me, but the game is on
To MSC 12. ...Bc6 looked good. I was also considering to leave the Q on f6 and playing ...Qh4 after Ne5.
