Punishing the guilty

Apologies for the dramatic sounding title, but then again this showcase game is somewhat dramatic. So many things we can expect to get away with, however, lacking a clear plan and inadequate king safety will get punished by the superior opponent.

PUNISH HIM!!!

"Queens are fantastic at retreating" - that ought to be a classic! I wonder how neither of the past greats had never come up with that one - especially Tartakower comes to mind. Totally adopted!

I don't remember exactly the name of the gambit after 1.d4 d5 2.e4 dxe4 3.f3

Sometimes in my enthusiasm with the commentary I forget to give out exclamation marks. I believe the time control on this one was...bullet.

17.Ne5 deserves an (!) mark but 18. Nxd3 is more likely to be an ordinary move.

It was like the Rensch April Fools game! ;-)

FN Perfect Idiot, you are sooo funny! I've read more of your post and they make me laugh I like it a lot XD

It's good to see some quality annotated games posted move for move when so many others neglect to annotate more than just a few key  moves the entire game. Once again as a bonafide titled FN you've provided a good example to those wannabe FNs. After all the innocents getting punished, it's good to see the guilty finally get some of their well deserved punishment too.

FN_Perfect_Idiot

I enjoy and favour annotations over analysis, because a) analysis is just technical details and doesn't give you insight into my thought process b) it breathes life into a game and it can get intense to re-live that.

I am considering annotating other peoples games in addition to my own. (Only ones that stand out as particularly interesting of course).

The first thoughts that struck me about this game was the exotic opening lines and the decision to place the dark bishop on the kingside. It appears that black wins on time, was that the case?

Stormstout

"Harrassing the queen. I'm so glad that is legal (in chess)."

blasterdragon

when black tries to avoid the exchange of queens you refer to your queen as good and the enemy queen as poor when urs is on its starting square while whites is in the center..

macer75

lol great commentary
