I scalped a USCF rated master at a local tournament last weekend.

What--no comments out there?  Any Sveshnikov players have an idea on what to do for Black on the 11th move?  How about comments on Black's piece sac.  Is there a better way for White to return the piece?  C'mon-- a little chatter in the infield.

Awesome endgame, all this years of playing blitz payed off! you didn't settle for a draw.  That was a MUZZLE FLASH ATTACK.  I think black was expecting you to castled.  Black should have not take the knight at d5 and castled instead...

Hey bro say hi everyone, give me a call whenever.

Peace and Rok n' Roll

I like the sveshnikov and have played it a lot , from both sides. As white I prefer 11 c3 to the immediate 11 exf5 and as black in the line given 11... Bxf5 is correct. 12 Qf3 isnt to be feared due to 12... Nd4 !  White can win an exchange with a N check at f6 or c7 and black is doing just fine in both lines.

Thanks for the comments, but I'm still not convinced about 11...Bxf5.  How do you answer 12.Qf3 with the threat of Nc7+, winning the exchange?

I like your 17...Ne7.  I never considered it during the game and it seems to me to be much better than Bxd5.

I looked at 24.Nb4 but didn't like e4; 25.Bc2, e3.  Black seemed to be getting too active here.  I felt the N was needed at d4 to support Be2 kicking the Q.

I completely missed 26.Nf5 (threating Ne7#).  Your analysis looks sound--good spot!

Thanks again for the comments.

Thanks for the comment.  I thought that winning the exchange was a major threat, but I'll take your word for it that Black is alright after that. With c2 covered I figured White was better, but the limited experience I have in this line has been negative.  Maybe that's why.

The line with Nc7+ has been played and black is scoring better than 60% in these lines .... I am not claiming black cant lose only that practice from this position shows that black has good chances of winning and shouldnt fear losing the exchange
