Usually I wait before atournament is over to even talk about anything from it but the game I saw today was ust so exciting. I had just got done from my game which was a really tough fight but instead of resting the game that I just played really got my chess spirit so fired up I just wanted to see another. I looked at one game which I though just what the doctor ordered and more surprisingly both players tremdiously  differed in rating the white player rated 1562 was struggling against black who was rated 487 !!!! Hope you enjoy and some analysis would really help.

Even though it was a game he still loss you got to give the guy his props. Not to mention earlier he in the tournament he drew a 1200ish player .

Not bad is that the guy who  won the U400 national ?

Not sure he did finish 4th in a unrated 5Rd swiss tourney out of like 21 or 22 people.

I think I know who your talking about and although I'm not qualified (rated 1014) Im his coach. Besides that 4th place achievement he's also placed 5th in a U1000 section of another tournament and his best result was tieing for 1st in a U600 section

with 3.5/4 other than that no nationals tho.

He does it again even being accused of cheating again at that.

Maybe he just timed out in a lot of games, and brought his rating down.

This.

Or maybe he intentionally threw games?

I'm confused. How can one be accused of cheating in a real USCF tournament? It's not like internet chess, where a person could have two computers with one running a chess engine, correct?

Was the beginning player getting up often to stretch, perhaps going to the restroom and accused of getting move answers from someone else?

What does it mean to throw a game? Are you talking about sandbagging (throwing a few games to get a lower rating before entering a tournament to have a completely unfair advantage to win prize money)?

Regardless, very cool unorthodox way of playing chess. Rated at 1000 on Live Chess, I wouldn't want to play against this person. I would probably get beat.

It happens the cheat typically has accomplices not far away who talks to him via a wireless reciever hidden inside his clothing or stiched inside his baseball cap if not a wireless device the cheat has an accomplice nearby who sends him signals they've worked out to indicate what moves to play.

A third party on the Internet communicates to the middle man by cell phone.

Or his buddies are outside the tourny hall in the skittles room and the cheater just leaves his board, walks in, and gets some tips before going back to play.

At a big tourney there's enough people that you don't need fancy stuff like wireless CIA inner ear implants Tongue out

Heh, seems someone coached him to follow this idea. Even if a player is very weak, if they somehow decide on a good plan, they'll suddenly seem a lot stronger.  Doesn't have to be the best idea, just a decent one.  I think that's what we're seeing here. Not sandbagging or sudden leap in strength...

Although of course he's better than 400... but 400 isn't even a real rating IMO :)

It's rare to find a 1500 who plays with any sort of plan, so to them the pressure on their position probably seems magical aka cheating.

Ok your the third guy to strongly believe this and ifa plan can help a player like that then I really want a coach !!!!

Often these players can make you sweat in the first 10 moves... especially if they're really booked up or like I said latch onto a decent idea.

But after the first transition they'll fall apart and in general if we're talking 200+ point disparity it's almost certain the higher rated player's tactics will be a huge asset.

In short,  having a good plan seems magical, but it's fundamentals that raise your skill and rating.  At 1500 you don't need a coach doing this sort of thing for you, what raises your skill is ironing out fundamentals, not fancy opening ideas (or in this case, more or less a trick).
