Played OTB in 1992. Go to move 13 and the black queen goes berserk happy.png The opening play isnt very impressive, to say the least. But it gave me an opportunity to play a remarkable deflection move.

Tom_Brady_SB49_Champ

Well played, that was a pretty cool move! Cool

NimzoPatzer

Did you sing this song to your opponent after move 13?

Thunderstruck68

Sure did happy.png

AussieMatey

What about 14.h3, and you only win a pawn?

AussieMatey

And 14.Qc3 probably holds too.

Thunderstruck68

14.Qc3 doesnt work. 14.Qc3 Qg4 15.Qxc5 Nxg3 16.Kg1 Ne2 and Kf2 or Kh1 are followed by Rxh2. But yes, 14.h3 is better, but still, 14...Qxe1 15.Rxe1 Bf2.
14.Be3 is probably whites best move, 14.Be3 Qxe1 15.Rxe1 Nxg3 16.Kg1 Bxe3 17. Rxe3 Nf5

But thats not so easy to find OTB, when you have been shocked by the queen move. He clearly didnt see it coming. But it was the reason I played 12....dxe4. However, white could have answered 13.g4 instead of 13.f4 and he should win.
I know i played a horrible opening, and a better player would have punished it. But the queen moves makes the game something special for me anyway.

Made me think it was a premove in a chess.com bullet game lol but then i realized the king was struggling

Mos def flashy! Would have been a nice Q sac if opponent would have cooperated.

Thorium232

Could white have played 14. Bxe4 to get out of trouble? It gives his king air while threatening black's queen.  If black responds with 14. Nxg3+, then 15. Kg2 and black cannot win material, unless I am missing something.

AussieMatey

He can't do 15...Rxh2+, and that doesn't work at any time.

Thunderstruck68

@Thorium232 : Yes, 14.Bxe4 is an option. But 14...Qxe1 15.Rxe1 Nxg3 16.Kg2 Nxe4 17.Rxe4 Nc6, and white is behind development and has an exposed king.

In the first version above and you get the piece back by Ne2xBc1
Yes Be3 covering g1 seems better.
What I liked was after the queen sacrifice fireworks you concentrated on development while white tangled up his queen side.
Then right at the end you still had to focus due to the threat of mate on b7
I did wonder about 33. b6 intending Bf3,Ba8 but it was all too slow and the knight was hanging.
Very pleasing to play through, thank you.

@Rat1960 : Thanks for the nice comment happy.png

@hari2017 : If white takes the black queen, Nxg3 is mate. White cant capture with the h2 pawn, because of the rook on h8.
