What was so beautifull about the game? Black played ...a6 and ...h6 and then ...Bg4 after which if you knew legal's mate you just did it with Nxe5. Black must have thought Nxe5 was a blunder though! It is pretty suprising. When you see the queen, sometimes you ignore every other part of the board, but he should have been aware of legal's mate. Or did she not know legal's mate? If not then that is impressive.

Wooow. I can't you were so lucky for him to fall for it. Personally, I always set up for it if the opponent plays the Phillidor, but something always comes up for it not to work, or they just simply don't play the Bf6 in the first place. =/
Anyway, not to thread hijack or anything, but a few days ago, I pulled off the Blackburne Gambit trap of the Italian Game. =)
