Unintentional Mates

Since this thread went up, I have realised that UM's are far more common than I thought. I, personally, have lots.
What about all you readers?
Oh, I had another one yesterday. I'm not a good player, so they're probably more common for me than intentional mates.
I am not a good player. But if I'm aiming to win, I am a practical player. It is better use of my time to set up a quickly-found, risk-free simple tactic that wins me a knight than to calculate, with great cunning, a mate in 5. Players like me get into the habit of going for small, simple increases in advantage rather than playing for mate, so it's not surprising that we get accidental mates when all we were really trying to do was pin something to the king or intimidate our opponent by threatening a random check.

you were 1500 when you made this thread and now you're 2100, lol
Not really. I believe you are mixing up the bullet-elo with rapid-elo.
I thought a forked attack on king and rook seemed like a good idea. I was a bit disappointed my opponent had protected the rook. In the end, it didn't matter...

I know it is not a mate, but it was a weird unintentional stalemate where I was the victim.
Have you thought of setting up a thread for these?

Stalemate is usually unintentional, however not many people like to air their dirty laundry, so to speak. I have been tricked many times into stalemates, btw, and they still get me blue thinking about them.

I regret I never got to take the skewered Queen in desperate time trouble.
I was really looking forward to taking that rook:
Yes!!! Sometimes an untimely mate spoils all the fun!
On the plus side, he got an irregular Boden's mate in the center
