Using your weaknesses to your advantage!

This game was very interesting for me. I was forced to allow an exchange that ruined the pawn cover around my castled king. . . however, after a bit of maneuvering, I was able to turn the half-open G file into a weapon.

No matter where you put the rook it is checkmate as long as it's on file 7 and isn't on the e file.

Nice game! Though just like you said, It wasn't really a weakness. It's funny cuz your opponent got whipped and probably thought you were an idiot after 15.Rg1.

g6 was bad. Why would he castle into checkmate? lol unless he blocked it which is.. I think like impossible lol.

and in the middle of a battle AGAINST HIS SIDE!

Looking at it from his side, though, castling kingside was really the only option to defend his king - both of his central pawns were gone, and the queenside pawns were much less secure. 19... Kh7 would have probably shored up his kingside defenses by eliminating both the pin from Bc4 and the direct attack along the G file.
