vienna win

Played this one recently and found it pretty satisfying although now that i've gone through it with the editor it looks like neither side played that well.  Alas, this is why i'm floating around the 1600 mark.  Bad Gimly.  Anyway, all thoughts and comments are most appreciated.  Thanks for stopping by.  Please pull up to the second window.

on move 4, it should have said, the e file, not to e file.  To e file's just silly

You say e5 is bad for you but I don't see that.  It forces the black knight to retreat to g8 and you own the center.

i have a line in the game that shows why e5 would have blown up in my face

6 e5 Qe7 7 Be2 and the Knight must retreat. Black's K side is totally undeveloped, it will take about 4 moves to get the Knight and Bishop out, I think...

man, you guys are right.  argh, i hate overlooking moves.  oh well.  hindsighte -it wasn't the best game, but this is how you learn.  Thanks for showing me what i guess i didn't see

I play a lot of Vienna games, and lately find many 3.... Nc6. Dunno if this is some new theory, or just coincidence, but I don't think it's very good.....

Well, I play the Vienna, and recently ran into 3. ....Nc6. It's basically a Halloween Gambit except White doesn't have to give up a knight. Can't be any good.
