When you underestimate your opponent

I am a weak chess player that plays once in a while to kill time. I challenged a 1400+ player just for the heck of it (I know most of you don't find 1400+ that impressive, but I am 800+, so it's quite a great difference.) I'm happy he resigned, though, I'm not good with endgames, he would've got a stalemate for sure, I always mess up those.

By the way, anyone got any good, online chess guides that's free? Thanks.

25. Bxg7+ and you have Rook for free.

it happens many times. One match can be lost by anyone, that's why usually are played 24 games to find out the real champion of the world.

Not to demotivate you, you played very intelligent, but this things happens

@Strep, noticed that when analyzing myself. Annoying mistake.

I understand that, just happy I got a win against a stronger player =)

You might have wished in the endgame when promoting your pawn to move your king out of the way. That would have saved you several moves ;-)

Yes, I was stuck with that tactic when I thought he might attack my pawn with his king, and I automatically kept doing it even after he focused on the bishop.
