If you haven't bought Fritz yet don't bother you can download Arena and/or Winboard (free chess programs) and install free chess engines including Houdini, Rybka, Stockfish etc. I own Fritz 12 and like it, but if I had known about all the free chess interfaces and engines out there I could've saved my money and still lived happily ever after.
Unless you're at least a Master you don't need Fritz 13 or the latest and greatest version of any other chess program or chess engine either. You can buy older versions cheaper at amazon or eBay.
