Boy, Gavrilo looked like he'd been up for a couple weeks, didn't he? (I can't get over that picture).

Does anyone know if the game where Fischer vs. Evans that was played by the pool is recorded somewhere? Or did they play multiple games and the picture was just one of the games?

Were they playing against each other or was it some sort of analysis?

And here I thought Chaturanga was a push-up. Silly me.

To me it sounds like either an exotic vegetable, or a really bad hip-hop/rnb band.

Those who are arguing that chess is not from India, need to explain further about its origin then.  Just simply denying whatever is said in the article, will not justify their comments.

What is widely believed (I am using the word 'believed') is... chess originated from India about 1500 years ago, then spread to Iran (the word used 'Shatranj' is a changed form of Chaturang in Sanskirt.. meaning four forces.. referring to Pawns, Kinights, Bishops and Rooks) / Gulf ... then to Europe.  Initially, the game was considered to be too slow....generally started from some set positions.  With the spread of the game, some changes were brought (between 13th and 16th century) into the game to make it more interesting...

For someone out here Eternalchess:

Chess is originated from serbia.

Serbians are the only people who know how to play chess.

All good world champions are serb.
