Has anyone made it to 2000 chess.com rapid playing exclusively 15 | 10 or should one focus on 10 minute with no increment? Keen to hear perspectives.

15|10 is better for progress.
The increment gives time to win a won position or draw a drawn position.
The longer duration also allows deeper thought.
Above 2000 it becomes harder to get paired.

Hey Sundip, I recommend playing both 15/10 and 10/00.... Tygxc is right, with 15/10 you have more time to think and everyone's chess performance is higher. Still, I find that a lot of people are in "blitz" mode when they play with these time control and don't take advantage of the extra time and increment.

10/00 has it's own advantages. For example, if you only play 15/10 you will eventually be paired with same players over and over again. 10/00 seems to expose you to many other players you otherwise would never see. Also, 10/00 is more compact and you know that the game will last 20 minutes max. That's important if you have a busy life at home or if you are on a lunch break at work, etc.

Cheers

After 2000 you find no games 15|10, or atleast it takes a long time. So i switched to 10min

in my experience 10mins tends to favour people with more opening knowledge

Hi, I reached 2000 this month, and I can tell you that by playing 15+10, you can build your base and enhance your understanding. Once you are good at it, you will have to increase your speed a bit. I used to play long 15+10-minute rapid games, but I think once one builds a base, you should definitely go for 10-minute games
