He/she went up 26 points in a month. If the player can keep up this tempo he/she'll be a grandmaster in about 50 months happy

Sorry, I thought this was going to be another allegation thread. We're inundated with those. The hours-rating ratio is an interesting measure. Did you come up with that yourself? I haven't seen it discussed before.

I think about this all the time. I have 40,000 hours working my job. But how much of that time has been spent practicing unsafely? What do I do well and what could I do better? I don't have a work rating. I just have the hours.

These blitz and bullet players are addicted. There more addicted to the game than they are to improving. You don't really have time to think.

As a player around 2000 rated over the board and online, I would have a better understanding on what people take to improve. The best way is most definitely grind the most amount of games as possible. It is about understanding what you did wrong.
