I had (and still have) the same problem. As you move up the ladder, every next step is going to be harder to achieve. Not only harder, also it will take more time than it did before. Nothing scary, just something you have to be aware of. At some point you will hit a plateau because its unavoidable and important part of the process. To continue improving you have to find your biggest weakness(or more) and it seems like you already did which is great. Now you just have to pay a bit more attention to them during your games so you can avoid repeated mistake. Whatever is it that you are lacking can be learned and worked on. So take half an hour a day for each one and your progress should continue as it did before. Maybe a bit slower, but thats normal. Find a good opening for white that you feel comfortable playing is a great start. Best of luck!

i started playing chess in 2020 december 30 something i gained 500 elo in september it was a big achievement to me but now im struggling to reach 1800 i lose games cause of blunders and sometimes draw a wining game ,missing a tactic .. when i play as black against e4 i love playing the caro i win most of the time but when i play as white i dont have a good opening repertoire i
and i lose on time sometimes any tips to improve from 1700 to 1800 ?? pls post a comment
