With white to move, its mate in 4.

Qaxf7+ Qgxf7 (Only move), Qfxf7. Now here white has two options. Either 1) Kxf7 or 2) Qhxf7.

1) If Kxf7 then Qhxh7+, Ke8 or Kf8 only moves. Either way Qbh8 is mate.

2) If  Qhxf7 then Qbh8+. Now black has two options a) Qfg8 or b) Qff8.

a) If Qfg8, then Qgxg8 is #.

b) If Qff8, then Qgg6 is #.

obviously, I could promote the pawns to knights instead of queens. It would be way easier.

I think you have too much time on your hands.....

20 Knights would be even easier because I wouldn't have to manuevre n them while deal with checks, pins..etc.

 mate in 4 for wite

EndgameEnthusiast2357

Yeah, white can mate in 4

I think this one is very cool. I would like to see 12 knights and 12 bishops. Maybe I'll get to work on that

Pretty neat. Also, seeing twenty knights would be awesome.
EndgameEnthusiast2357

knights are even easier cause the queens tend to pin each other which is extremely annoying

Philloveschess
Can you make 18 bishops.
Philloveschess
or can you get 20 bishops
EndgameEnthusiast2357

18 bishops of the same color, 20 total

hitthepin
Just a request.
EndgameEnthusiast2357

I'll try some time

Nino_98

Maybe I just missed the last moves... but if there are 2 pawns left there can't be 18 queens on board

EndgameEnthusiast2357

There's no pawns left and each side has 9 queens=18.
