I have played a few titled players but lost all the games. Finally got atleast a draw against a titled player. He was completely winning but then probably took pity on me and I was able to get a draw there.
Of course he then defeated me in the following 5 games that we played without breaking into a sweat.
Although, I did hv the chance to defeat him in one of the games. Missed simple tactic that would hv led to effectively being game winning move. This is the game.
The crucial position is after 24. Nd4. I could play Bh2+ and win his queen. These were all quick time control games, so he was missing a few things as well. However I spotted that I could exchange queens and a pair of rooks and be in a winning endgame and went for that line not even bothering to check if I had anything better.
Of course it was still a winning endgame, but having a winning endgame and winning an endgame vs a titled player are two different things. Missed a knight fork and that was that.
