2-dimensional vs 3-dimensional

Does anyone else find it easier to work out problems with an actual board rather than just an image?  I know it's a lot easier for me to do "mate in 2" puzzles or look at a position (Tal-Botvinnik 1960, Game 4, move 8, for example) if it's there on a physical chessboard and not just printed on a page.  I can manipulate figures in my head just fine, but it just seems to make more sense if I can see it in 3-D.

Anyone else or am I likely to be the worst blindfolded chess player ever?  Smile
