funny you say that because to many 2000+s (like 2100, 2200, etc.), being called "2000" actually is a bit of an insult considering how low the playing strength drops right after hitting 2000 in rapid (and in blitz, skill is traded for speed but it's not at all nearly as bad as for rapid)

@DoYouLikeCurry WOW. Your first game was killer! I would NEVER EVER have played some of those moves (which is why I'm still a low-rate)! And I never spotted the draw either ... I think Stockfish has been believing its own press clippings. grin

My friend, perhaps I should not have played all of them either, hence the accuracy! 10minutes is sometimes simply not long enough to accurately navigate a bonkers position like that…

I love games that are completely unexpected (which is why I think I'll like 960 one day). Thank you for sharing your games! I'm still shocked at the engine's draw suggestion, LOL.

It’s a ridiculous line! In fact, it’s a ridiculous game: you can zoom in on almost any move and find bizarre continuations

Thats too easy. Half the players hang their pieces in the middlegame above 2000 level (blitz). To reach it in blitz, work haard to get 2000 first, lol.

I mean… it can’t be THAT easy. Even in rapid, in an active pool of 65,000,000+ players, I’m at around the top 30,000 mark at just 2150ish. 2300 is obviously higher than that still (and bear in mind these figures include new accounts that might not have been caught yet, so the true pool will be slightly smaller) and so if it was easy more people would achieve it!

They're doing? Earlier, 2435 was enough to get into top 1000 rapid.

Now, the rating required to get top 1000 rapid is 2465 to 2475 now.

Don't play rapid, it's infested with engine users above 2100. Also I believe these are some stages where u hit a wall. If you get to 2000, you can grind and reach till 2200. Then you again face a wall at 2300, which if u crack then the next plateau is 2500 and so on

I can see the third game, but not the second nor first game for some reason

I only posted the interesting one - I wonder, can you find the ridiculous draw the engine finds? If not I can give clues lol

22. Ne8+ Kf7
23. Bg6+ Kxg6
24. Rxa8
Idk if this is a draw, but this provides a lot of compensation for the 2-point material deficit (2-bishops for the rook, and an extra pawn) because of white's superior activity compared to black's pieces

Not the absurd one the computer finds, let me show you:

Edit: hopefully fixed board

I found the Rg1 idea, although oddly overlooked the repetition with knight checks. No chance I would’ve found that in the game though, it’s an incredible tactic. Crazy game!

I also lost to @tornike111 once, a bit over a year ago, where he played the Smith-Morra. I think his playing style is really tricky.

Tricky indeed - I’m surprised honestly that in the game I had with black he didn’t go for something like the alien gambit, Panov seemed far too solid!

I’m 1800 and can confirm that I’m not good, let alone too good. So I think you will find 1400s mostly easy to defeat later in your chess journey (although I still lose to them once in a while lol)
