80 gig i-chess

Hey everyone, just wanted to share with you a little i-pod chess fun.

  • You can use the photo feature to put chess puzzles on your i-pod. I used my computer chess program (Fritz 6) to set up a puzzle position. Then I made a jpeg file using a copy position function in Fritz and pasted it to a paint file (any jpeg ap will do). Presto, now I've got color puzzles to solve on the go.
  • Another fun thing you can do is to enter in the moves from a game into a computer chess program. Then you can copy the move list into a text file. You can make a portable chessbook to study from.

So there are my two i-pod ideas that I've applied. Does anyone know if there are podcasts or better yet video lessons that can be converted to the apple-format i-pod friendly video?

I've been downloading youtube chess videos to my ipod. You simply go to www.keepvid.com, copy the URL into the box, and save it to your computer. Then rename the file, put it in Itunes, and convert.

I didn't know chess.com had a podcast. I'll have to check that out.

Just found a sick trick to download chess videos from online sites to my iPod using SoundMate.

Gonna try it out and then maybe check out the podcast on chess.com too. #chesslife
