Please look at my last game in the archive. After Blacks move 16...Q x c3 it looks like I blundered away a piece. Really Black taking the knight at c3 has the effect of placing his Queen out of the necessary defensive places thus facilitating the ensuing fireworks.  The resounding White move 17. Be8!  seals the deal. This move puts unbearable pressure on the f7 pawn the weak link always because only the King is defending. Also Black cannot play 17. Rook x e8 because 18. Q x f7 Check losing the Rook with mate to follow. There are great benefits I am realizing from playing Chess sober instead of stoned on pot. Have a great Friday everybody!

Congratulations. Now take the next step and wait until after you have posted to get high. You must post your game if you want anyone to look at it.

Black plays Qf5 move 17, and you were done, you played poorly and relied on a blunder/hopechess blitz game oversight by your opponent to win.

Yes true. But a win.is a win. That`s what happens in bliz. Time is an ally. Blitz at lower levels is won just as much by the other guy`s blunders as by your.good moves.

You are very pragmatic, a highly desirable attribute to have in chess.   What you say is very true.   Keep in mind, Blitz is a whole different game than slower versions of chess where in blitz one must constantly be alert to possibilities / tactics changing the game instantly.

If we have more time in a game, ie; 60 minutes for whole game or "on-line Chess" where we can take days between moves, we can spend much more time thinking strategically.   Often in blitz, we do not have that luxury.

I tend to go between both worlds, and sometimes flounder miserably in the blitz world.    Try playing blitz with Computer Impossible or Computer Hard.    If you overlook any basic tactic, they will nail you !
