Browser notification

Why does a notification in French appear in the browser recently ?

There was no change to my settings and i don´t know how to do it.

Does anyone else have this problem ? Previously the notification was always in English.

That does sound strange! Sometimes browser notifications (especially on Chrome or Firefox) pull language settings from your browser preferences or operating system, not just Chess.com.

Here are a few things you can check:

1. Browser language settings – Make sure English is set as the preferred display language in your browser (Settings > Languages).

2. Chess.com language setting – Scroll to the very bottom of any page on Chess.com and check if the language is still set to English.

3. Clear cache & cookies – Sometimes an old session or a browser sync issue can cause weird behaviour like this.

It’s probably not a Chess.com bug — just a quirky mismatch in settings somewhere. Let us know if it keeps happening!

So, at the moment the browser notofication appears in two languages: English and French.

All settings are correct.

Could your notifocation that it´s your turn have something to do with your opponent´s settings?

It seems to be about the opponent´s language settings, this is new.

Same here. I got a notification in Cyrillic in the browser (Chrome on a Windows desktop PC) with the move of my opponent telling me that it is my move in a daily game. Chess.com is set to English I have certainly never set any language setting to a language that uses Cyrillic script as I can only barely decipher the script and don't speak any of the languages at all. I only started daily games yesterday so can't say how long this has been going on.

I recently started to get notifications in french on my phone when it's my turn in daily games. I have all settings set to english. It is only in some of my daily games i get notified in french. In the other games I get notifications in english.

Have anyone found a solution for this?
