You don't have to be cool to buy a used Martin, just lucky to come across an affordable one.

Maybe more a Paul Simon or Emily Saliers style, though there's noting wrong with Joni Mitchell other than she thinks Bob Dylan is devoid of talent.

I love Simon and Garfunkel songs. Bookends, The Boxer, April come she will, I'm a Rock, Old friends, etc. Good music!

batgirl

Yes it is.  Simon is possibly the premier American songwriter, as well as one sweet guitarist.

Xilmi

Aw, I totally overlooked that bishop on the long diagonal! :o

"whats your favorite song BG ?"

It's almost impossible to pick a favorite song.  I would say The Boxer or America by Paul Simon, Tangle Up in Blue by Bob Dylan,  ranks up there for me.

Who is your favorite chess player BG?

batgirl

It's almost impossible to pick a favorite chess player :-D
Paul Morphy comes to mind, as does Mikhail Tschigorin, as does Joseph Blackburne, as does a dozen others.

conejiux

My favorites are Karpov, Capablanca, Tal, and the guy who invented chess...!

batgirl

Those guys are all from the wrong century....

Morphy was ahead of his time. Can imagine him playing chess today in many tournaments. At his time was very difficult play against another masters (traveling in ships, slow trains, bad weather, etc.) It's sad...

Tangled up in blue is a pretty cool song. I like Led Zepplin's Immigration song, along with Stairway to Heaven. Morphy was a class act imo as well.

He's my choice for first whistle.

batgirl

Morphy could whisle a tune, that's for sure.

batgirl

Morphy didn't put much stock in tournaments.

Yes, Morphy was ahead of his time. He only didn't play attacking, stradegy was also envolved in his games.

batgirl

"stradegy was also envolved in his games."

and that's a good thing!
