I fixed it
I need help figuring out why the chess board is not showing up on my cell phone.
If you can't see the board above in the forum, you should just probably go out of the app and then back in. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling and then reinstalling. If you can't see the board when you try to play online games, try doing the same thing. Just uninstall and then reinstall.
Here, is the game that made my day. @GoodbyeIAMbad is pretty cool person from what I got during the chat. There was a lot of emoji posting, and not a ton of talking, which made me feel like he/she was in the game and that they didn't want to spend a ton of time talking. We both made a lot of mistakes as you will see.
I overall had better accuracy, (not that it was very high), and as the game review says, we both had many chances to win. This was the Petrov's Defense: Three Knights Game.
Move three was the final book move, and the game truly began.
I really like the opening; there was a good amount of trading, leading later on to an open game, and there was a lot of moves I hadn't seen before, although a lot of the strange moves were in the mid-game.
The first "great move" came in when I traded queens on move 22. at this point I have been winning, and continue winning for a while.
And then there was move 30, where I "threw" away a piece, and it would have been a close game. But luckily for me, GoodbyeIAMbad missed the piece, and I was winning again after a few moves.
I felt good about the game at this point, but only thought of promoting a pawn. And so I missed...
The Checkmate. On move 40, I failed to see a castle checkmate.
I wasn't just intent on seeing a promotion though, I wanted a queen. So I failed to see the second checkmate on move 41. Promoting my pawn to a knight would have done the trick. Instead, I saw their castle, and knew that if I promoted to a queen they would pin my king in front of my queen (is it called something besides pinning?), which would simply result in my lost pawn/queen.
I still wasn't in a horrible position. As we went through the endgame, I slowly pushed my other pawn, and lost a pawn.
Finally, on move 55 I saw that I didn't have to have a queen to checkmate, and simply advancing my pawn, resulting in a forced checkmate.
In the end, it wasn't an amazing game. What I loved so much about checkmating was that I got a checkmate at 00:02 in a 10:00 game.
I will say though, although GoodbyeIAMbad made some mistakes, I would say they are a better chess player, especially after our rematch, which I won't give a commentary on. 😂
Btw, if anybody needs any help on chess.com, I'm happy to help.
