Learn exactly how to think in the opening, middlegame and endgame — this is what I teach.
Always blunder-check your moves.
Solve tactics in the right way.
Analyze your games.
Study games of strong players.
Learn how to be more psychologically resilient.
Work on your time management skills.
Get a coach if you can.
Tactics to stop sucking
Do more tactics https://www.chess.com/live/game/138744179756 Here a strong player will immediately see that Kd1 blunders the rook, whereas a beginner will not notice that.
Thanks both. With regard to coaches, what's the best way to find one? Joining a club?
Joining a club (a real life chess club near you) is probably the best thing you can try.
Then follow the above advice.
Chill…enjoy.
As for joining a Club it apparently helps…or just go for the Social Interaction.
I haven’t summed up the courage to go to a club…maybe one day 😁
Good Luck
what is solving tactics "the right way"?
ChessMasteryOfficial's post is a spam reply written by some AI. It means nothing.
Probably there is a human behind the account, but the posts are always AI-generated nonsense.

If you google search kasparov chess website, there you can find tactics that actually created by gm unlike here which is mostly from games. They give you 25 tactics per day and i feel quality is better than lichess puzzle.
play slow daily games or untimed bot games (work through the difficulty levels & they will become good for your game) and try hard to find the very best moves both for you & your opponent on every move. blunder-check before moving & game review afterwards to see what was missed.
also, make the 'learn' & 'puzzles' tabs your two best friends. notably, lessons, endgames & survival puzzle rush are particularly instructive options here.
At the moment I suck badly. And nothing seems to be helping, puzzles, practise games, learning new openings. On a big losing trend o er the last month at about 40% win rate and just doing STUPID things all the time.
