A real problem for black

There may be no good answer here, other than "depends on the position".

I play g6 a lot and it feels very cramped getting my LSB into the game while also linking my knights. Nc6 is fine in some positions but I like Nd7 and having the two work together. Things get very crowded and WHEN to bring out LSB becomes an issue.

Sometimes I avoid all this by fianchetto-ing LSB, but this changes everything.

Have you experienced this and what are some good moves or options to relieve some kingside pressure?

Would you mind sharing some positions?

I know what you are talking about. I played a lot of Pirc/KID games when I was lower rated. One of the solutions is to fianchettoing the LSB, as you said. The solution I did was to stop playing these types of positions…..

This is the type of frustrating response I was hoping not to get. I have indeed been pushing pawns more, either opening or closing positions, depending.

Maybe it's just time for some nose to the grindstone studying. **Winces at the thought**

Go read a thousand books and play a thousand positions like this against bots.

This is a great example of what I do not want. After move 8 and LSBs exchanged g file is wide open.

I apologize the system is behaving like an absolute POS at the moment.

Maybe another time.

It should not be difficult at all to share a game. 2-3 clicks. Corruption is a very dangerous toy to play with.

That's the best I can do atm. After move 8 you will see what I am trying to avoid.

okey the system is always pos for me when I need it most

i will check the games

If you stop playing 1...g6, you will also stop feeling cramped almost automatically.

Or maybe you will still feel cramped if you keep blundering material as in the game you have posted at #12.

I don't see the blunder on move 12 but no doubt you see deeper than me. I blundered Q much later. G6 is typically move 3 or later. Almost never 1. If I could always avoid blunders I am sure I would be better off.

Thank you Pfren

I would say move the A or H pawn or don't have the pawn recapture.

Yes I think just losing the bishop might actually be better here. Those pawn moves are a good idea also, thanks.

Don't get the bishop out if it wrecks the King's "house"

Leave it undeveloped for a bit
