While I love playing games on chess.com, I've been noticing a strange trend in my win-loss record recently.
I play a lot of 20 min rapid games through general random invites, and my chess.com rapid rating has ranged between 1300 and 1500 over the past year. I've taken a sample of my recent win rate compared to the ranking of my opponents, and found that I'm losing a lot of games to players ranked well below 1200, many of them below 1000...!
While I've lost several of these games clearly due to my own bad play, I've also been noticing that in some games, the opponent plays REALLY well, as in they often use the perfect set of moves one wouldn't expect a low-rated player to play.
While I have no definitive proof, I do know that cheating has been a problem on chess.com (and they are taking measures to fix it). As an experiment, I've decided for the next few weeks I will not play anyone rated under 1200. I want to see how this affects my rating. But I also want to know...has anyone else noticed this kind of thing happening in your games?

If you suspect any of your opponents of using unfair resources, or sandbagging their rating, you should just report them.
