How are the book of Aagaard?

I've been thinking of getting practical chess defence of him.
Are they any good? Insttuctive wise I mean.

Depends on the book. Experts vs the Sicilian is great, but I could not endure the Sveshnikov book by Aagaard.

I want a good middlegame book to put up positions before going to bed.

Was thinking of practical chess defence and attacking manual.

Arctor

Attacking Manual is very good, the thing I like about it is that it's very heavy on the prose with explanations after almost every move. It reminds me of Nunn's "Understanding Chess Move by Move" in that sense.

I would imagine the Defence book is much the same

I hope it is.

I like clear wording.
