abort game

How could one abort in the middle of the game? It does not make sense

Reposting my response to another similar thread.
“Just happened to me too. They were playing a gambit I’ve seen before from an Eric Rosen video. So I played into it until right before the critical move and instead played the best move that gave me a much better position. A couple of seconds passed after my move and then the game aborted?!? I can’t even find the game on my list of recent games?! It’s as if the player disappeared. Their name was a bunch of random characters like “Dpk52784” or something. This is either hacking or an incredibly bad exploit that needs to be addressed ASAP. I submitted a report so hopefully Chess.com staff can look into it.”

You can’t become a GM if you don’t know that I bet AND HOW IS- HOW AM I A KID AND KNOW THIS BUT WHO MAY BE ADULTS DONT. WELL MY IQ IS 100

You can't. If that happened the game was either an Arena game and the arena ended, or the live server restarted. In either of those cases, ongoing games are aborted.

You don't become a GM by playing online, you become a GM by earning title norms over the board in FIDE tournaments
