It's supposed to teach the evils of capitalism. Somewhere in time that point was lost..

the original version of chess did indeed originate in India. But it is/was a different game than we play now.

the majority of changes that are present in the Modern game were introduced in Mideaval Europe. the last addition being the en passant rule from France in the mid to late 1800s.

on a related note, the ancient Pics of Ireland played a type of gambling game using different colored sheep phallanges that was not related to China. it is funny, that Domino's are still referred to as playing "bones".

yes "bones" can refer to dice or dominoes.

the point is that there are documented and verified "games" using bones, objects made with bone, wood, or stone and even later glass that are independent of China through out the ancient world. I provided one example.

That is very plausible.

In my intuition, I believe Gomoku popped up independently from different places.

Gomoku seems a natural evolution from Tic-Tac-Toe.

a book you might enjoy reading is, The Marvelous Century by George Woodcock PhD.

He examined the formation of independent societies around the world in 5th century BC.

He also provides some interesting circumstantial evidence in regards to what we refer to as "the silk road".
